PANZER KAMPF ANZUG H1 HEINRICH

The original PKA H0 and H1 are some of the absolute best SF3D Original designs, and after the first one, this was definitely a kit worth revisiting. This build came out of the included PKA with the Hornisse, and typical of an older Nitto era mold, it had a few issues, but builds up beautifully with some elbow grease.

The original Nitto pilot has very gummy and soft details by todays standards, so a Brick Works pilot bust was added. The much sharper resin details of the pilot really help sell the kit as an open topped suit.

Some small mechanical details were added to help differentiate it a bit more as a H1 type than a H0 type:
  • Replaced scope above cockpit with camera
  • Added engine silencer and exhaust cover
  • Targeting sensor added to cockpit

The camouflage scheme was inspired by WW2 tank schemes in the Pacific, with a little bit of a light blue added to give the appearance of a littoral camouflage scheme. The base is meant to represent a rocky beach area with seaside grasses, perhaps a scene of a unit that is guarding a naval installation.

Having built this kit twice now, it is safe to say this is a stone cold classic of the Nitto SF3D era - one of the most iconic Maschinen Krieger designs, the PKA ausf H looks great in almost any configuration. Absolutely one of the most satisfying vintage kits to build, bar none!
