Panzer Kampf Anzug ausf. H0
The PKA H0 is the original Strahl design from SF3D and almost all the PKA style Ma.K designs are descended from it. Originally modified from a 1/48 helicopter kit, it has a really unique look when compared to most sci-fi powered armor. When I built this, the Nitto kit was the only one available and there is still yet to be a new 1/20 injection kit update of this suit.
The PKA kit came with both claw hands and normal hands and I opted for the claw hands as the fingers were molded together as they usually are on older kits. As is with the Nitto kits, there are hoses, brass rod, and a few small metal parts in the box.
The Nitto clear parts were extremely thick and had a really dark brown tint to them that was not to my liking, so the side windows were textured and made into extra armor and the front window was left off entirely (it's actually got no front window on the original box art!) The pilot figure has the soft detail and kind of dull expression of the Nitto pilots, but at the time I was not confident in my figure painting skills enough to try a resin pilot.
The base is a piece of tile that was broken to simulate broken concrete and then normal ground texture and foliage added around it for an abandoned area look.
This kit is actually now in the collection of my friend Robert who has been a studio mate for a long time and has given me a very welcome second opinion when I am stuck on something. I'm looking forward to trying this suit again and maybe even figuring out a way to deal with those clear parts!
