MS-05B Zaku I (The Origin)

Just like the Origin Gouf kit, the Origin Zaku I is incredibly impressive in how much detail and flexibility that is able to be packed into a HG sized kit. This build was an attempt to go "back to basics" with a build and not attempt any modifications, building strictly as intended.

The kit was snapped up fairly quickly, and there were almost no visible seam lines once the kit fell together. The elbow joint is a very cleverly engineered double joint that allows a very wide range of motion.

The Sturm Faust firing pose was picked to show off the great articulation in the arms and shoulders. The Zaku I's low-tech look pairs well with a disposable single shot weapon. This pose does not even show off the great articulation in the legs either, as this is one of the few HGs that can do a natural looking kneel.

Like all HG's, the kit did not come with any waterslides, so some leftover warning markings were used for a Katoki style look. A small gem was used for the mono-eye.

For around $25USD, this is a great weekender project and a reminder of just how far the technology in this hobby has come in terms of kit engineering and parts layout.
