Lunadiver Stingray

One of my very few commission builds I have done, and the client couldn't have picked a cooler subject! The Lunadiver is a large space fighter / attacker used by the Mercenaries and the kit is in 1/35 (my first 1/35 Ma.K at the time!) - it also came with two suits, an Intruder and Fireball SG. With such a large canvas, it was cool to let hand painting run wild and free hand an emblem.

The lineage of the original kitbash is very present in the kit build -  lots of recognizable parts of everything from boat hulls, to helicopter cockpits, to aircraft noses.

The small size of the suits in 1/35 really give a great sense of scale for this kit as one of the largest vehicles in Ma.K to receive an injection kit.

The marking options offered in the box were very nice, but I felt that such a large vehicle needed a unique emblem, and thus the cattle skull was added.

While this was a commission, I had so much fun working on it, I almost didn't want to give it up at the end of the process! I can only imagine what painting a 1/20 scale version of this beast must be like!
