RX-160T Byarlant Trainer

My take on a Byarlant used for aerial training by the EFSF. I figured the Byarlant's extremely capable flight ability coupled with it's kind of lackluster armament (at least according to what we see in Zeta) would make it a good fit for training pilots to eventually get into more advanced flight type mobile suits like the Gaplant and Asshimar.

The kit was built from the P-Bandai Byarlant Custom Unit 02 kit. I normally don't spend the amount of money it takes to get P-Bandai as it is just a little too spendy for my blood but in this situation, I had some store credit from placing in a modeling competition hosted by Tatsu Hobby. At the time the Zeta version of this kit was not out yet so this was the only way to get a Byarlant without the weird claw feet from the Unicorn version.

The kit was painted with a mix of Mr. Color and Alclad II paints thinned with Mr. Leveling Thinner. I am not much of an airbrush painter, but I tried my best to get the pre-shaded look that Gunpla painters favor. Despite being P-Bandai, it didn't come with any waterslide decals, just normal clear stickers so some spare decals from a variety of kits was used.

Well thanks for checking it out! This kit was actually given away on my Instagram to celebrate a post milestone, and is now in the collection of Backstept who chose to display it in his local hobby shop! What an honor! Now... to build the Zeta Version to have one on my shelf again!
